Hello and welcome to the first black friday alert for 2009! This alert is just to give you a quick update on what to expect over the next two months. First, we have one official black friday ad and one rumored ad. The first confirmed ad goes to Half Price Books which features an ad that is is very similar to last year, complete with free calendars and gift cards available to the first 100 customers.
We were also anonymously sent what looks like a pre-release of the OfficeMax Black Friday ad earlier today. This ad scan appears to be partially correct, with the first three pages having decent deals on printers, digital cameras, computer accessories, and laptops. However, the fourth page looks to be fake, with items such as the Snuggie and the Slap Chop on sale. We want to be clear that this is strictly a rumor and we can not confirm that these deals are 100% accurate quite yet. However, we wanted to pass this info on for those of you that are interested in the OfficeMax Black Friday ad.
Typically we would have one or two additional ads by now, but we have heard rumors that retailers are putting new security measures in place to prevent the ads from leaking early. Even with the extra security in place, we still expect to receive at least two new black friday ads by the end of the month, followed by daily updates of new black friday ads throughout the month of November.
To make it easier for you to receive and share black friday updates, we have a couple of new tools. First, we setup a Twitter account to make it even easier for you to find out when new black friday ads are posted. You can follow us at:
http://twitter.com/blackfridayinfo
Also, just like last year, we have enabled the ability to anonymously submit any rumors that you have heard regarding potential black friday deals. To submit any tips, just go to the store's black friday page and select the Edit button to enter any rumors that you might have heard.
We hope you enjoy the site this year and please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions on new features that you would like to see.
