If you wonder why I post so many DIY links when I find them, it's because premade items are a convenience. They're a luxury. There was a time when everyone made their own whatever, and grew their own food. But once the Industrial Revolution took over and everyone started migrating to the cities, purchasing premade items became the norm. (Yeah, yeah, there was a lot of other stuff involved too, but I dunna want to give a history lesson here;) )
Why should you pay four times the price, or more, for the same functionality. And hey you can always make alterations to suit yourself. Do it your way, and be creative with the main idea. Then there is always the satisfaction of making something yourself. I hope you peeps on my flist find these links to DIY projects useful and interesting. You can do it! And it's not any less an excellent item be4cause you made it. That is brainwashing by the companies that want you to buy their products. They want you to believe that anything you make can't possibly have the same value or be as good as anything they want you to pay out the nose for. DIY projects empower you! And I am all for empowering people.
