Stevia - an Alternative for Sugar? (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni)
I'm going to try some of the whole leaf stevia powder and see how it stacks up against the white bleached powder. I've been using the white powders for nearly three years, but they started adding all kinds of muckety junk to it. And yeah, I know, it's supposed to help make it easier to pour and all that, but it sure is strange that most of the junk they're adding negates the beneficial effect that stevia has of not raising blood sugar. Erythritol is one of the least offensive additives. Erythritol has a glycemic index of almost zero. For your own sake, read those labels my peeps, and look up those additives that have been added to the stevia brands that you buy.
The whole leaf powder is supposed to have all the good stuff left in it, as well as the sweet. But it's green *G* So we'll just see how it goes. It may be a week or two before I report back on it. I haven't ordered it yet, and it'll take time to get here and try it for a bit.
