I'll try to keep up with posting and my slist, aclist, flist, and other stuff.
I'm taking some online courses in HTML, Herbs, and some other miscellaneous stuff. So, the study time is going to eat into my slist, clist, flist reading and posting time for a while. So if a few days go by without you hearing from me, don't think I've disappeared.
I'm learning to build a web page in my beginning HTML class Wheeeee! This includes making folders for web pages, and loading them by FTP. That's definitely a new thing for me. The class starts from the ground up in learning HTML. Yeah, I know there's a ton of things online, but the lesson materials explain a lot of things that I haven't seen addressed anywhere else, in very clear understandable, and easy to read language. The lessons tell you what and how to do, and explain why you're doing it that way.
If you're interested in the classes let me know and I'll send you the info.
You can take up to 4 classes for 20.00 (That's a lot cheaper than CE classes at your local college or community school). The classes last from four to six weeks. You can do the lessons and homework on your own time, and at your own pace. You can take them for pure pleasure or take a final exam and get CEU credits for the classes.
I drool over the Teaching Company courses, but I have to wait for a really good sale on those because they're expensive. They're great for refreshers on college courses you took way back when. And then there are the free lectures online. I'll get my links list set up, with links to all that good stuff, on this journal eventually.
So far I've been having a good time. These are very low stress classes, and the instructors are very nice. The types of students vary widely. We've got a college prof in the current class, as well as a programmer, some older folks, some housewives, some college age folks, and other folks that fall into a wide variety of categories. It's a widely mixed group of folks, so anyone can feel comfortable taking these classes. And no leaving home to struggle with traffic! All I have to do is fire up my computer.
I'm taking the beginning HTML class but they offer intermediate and advanced classes as well. I'll be taking those next.
They also have CSS classes, javascript classes, graphics classes, and writing classes(creative and technical), as well as health classes, including; nutrition, herbs, vitamins and stuff.
They have a lot more classes available, but that gives you an idea of what is offered.
I'm an info whore, if you hadn't noticed by now ;>
I like learning new things, just to know stuff. I always had a very hard time choosing electives in college because I wanted to learn everything, LOL.
