And a weird true tale of woe...
Okay so I told y'all I got my new phone right?
Okay, I'm happy as happy can be..
I installed all the batteries and charged all the hand sets for 24 hours..
I geekily set about rerouting my phone line and dsl splitter through a brand new surge protector with a phone line/data line protector.

I get the hardware set up, and the base programmed the way I want it...(And man o man this thing does everything but walk the dog, LOL)
Soooo now I'm ready to test the phone... I don't use my cell phone enough to have the number memorized yet. So I pull it out and hunt up my number. I write it on a piece of paper, and then call the land line phone and it works by golly(The other one I bought before Christmas didn't work, so I had to return it. It wouldn't ring when someone called in).
Okay the phone rings and I pick it up. Great reception. Clear voice, no interference.
Okay I hang up, and use the land line to call my cell phone. I hear it connect and ring... but my cell phone isn't ringing. So I hang up, and try again...ring..ring..ring..still no response from my cell phone...
Okay, check the cell phone battery, and put in a freshly charger battery
(I keep extra charged batteries)..
I call the number again, Okay.. still no response from the cell phone :/
I check the number, and look it up on my cell phone again..Ahh there's the problem, I transposed two numbers when I wrote it down.. Okay! now we're getting somewhere...
So I call my cell phone with the land line with the now corrected number and hurray, my cell phone rings...Good reception, clear voice..no static or interference...
Yippee, I'm ecstatic!
So I send my daughter upstairs with a handset to test the range...and the range is still good even upstairs in the farthest room.We test the walkie talkie feature, the intercom feature, the paging feature, and the room monitoring feature. Everything seems to be working great!
Que this morning around 7:00 AM
Phone rings..Coconut tune..coconut tune..coconut tune....*snerk*
I pick it up and say.... Hello?
Some guy SNARLS at me almost before I get the greeting out of my mouth: You called me!!!!
I say: Errr, I don't recall calling you specifically, but I may have dialed the wrong number..
Strange unidentified guy snarls very loudly and nastily again: Well you called me. Don't call me again..
So I snarl back: Yeah right..What part of 'I misdialed a number' do you not understand? I didn't call you on purpose you stupid ass. And who would want to call your grouchy ass anyway? Fuck off and die.
And I hung up, LOL...
Needless to say if someone calls your number by accident it's not a great idea to call them back and snarl at them in a raised voice.. So I made a goof..Is calling his number by accident a crime? I guess according to him it is..He didn't even have an answering machine to take messages..If he had I would have realized right away I had the wrong number... But it really pissed me off that he called me that early in the day to snarl at me, because I dialed his number and acted like I was a criminal...
I would have politely apologized to the man if he hadn't started snarling and yelling at me. Now as far as I'm concerned he can kiss my ass.
So, my first official call on my NEW phone was a weird rude screaming person who I don't know from Adam.
But it hasn't taken the shiney off, LOL.
So here's a pic
