Someone burglarized our house while we asleep last night!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG someone entered my house last night sometime while we were all asleep and stole our TV!!!!!!!!!!

I'm freaking out! What if they'd been a freak or something with a gun, or someone had woken up and stumbled across them while they were in the house???


That's it, I'm getting a gun permit, and a 357. The TV wasn't really expensive but it was the fact that whoever it was didn't care if people were home or not. That's a serious escalation of a don't care attitude that will get someone killed!

Cops will tell you that most burglars wait until people are not home, during the day. Someone that doesn't care if people are home or not is more likely to actually harm people. I have been freaked out all day!

My best friend's family was burgled the same way back in the early 80s; someone came in thru the back door -- with 3 adults and a teen asleep in 4 different rooms -- and cleared out the electronics in the living room and went thru the kitchen looking for (non-existent) silver or something.

I absolutely see why that would utterly freak you out.

Did you report it to the police? Can you get your locks changed / toughened?

I'm glad they only took something replaceable and didn't hurt anyone but I wish it hadn't happened at all.
